Bangkok Places: Throk Krut
Throk Krut is an amazing find, a recently opened café and restaurant situated behind Khaosan road on Throk Krut Alley. It’s a 40-year-old shophouse turned into a stylish place that combines elements of Boho-Industrial chick and Art Deco, thus creating a unique vibe of tranquility and class. Food is mid-range priced and has both Thai and western dishes. It’s prepared by one of the owners who is also a chef, so you can imagine that it’s quite delicious.
However, my favourite feature is the balcony overlooking the street where you can chill with a cold beer or coffee, flipping through design and hospitality magazines provided or just engage in observation of a very vivid and slightly notorious neighborhood. I especially love the writings on the floor “Give yourself time” that immediately have a soothing effect remind you to take a break and relax.
