These are some of my favourite websites for teaching English online. They are fun and useful for reviewing and practicing all the necessary skills your students need to speak good English regardless of their age and/or level.
British Council – I’ve been using British Council’s website for years to teach face-to-face and online classes. You can choose between different age groups and various language skills. Most of the topics include exercises that you can do online or download and print off.
Baambozled – This website has only a single-style game that is used for creating any content you want (paid subscription) or use the ones made by other teachers (free). Great for reviewing any topic from tenses to vocab. It always brings so much joy in my online class as it features various bonuses that can change the scores of the game in a jiff!
Wordwall – Games created by teachers within set templates like unjumble, hangman, word search, quiz, etc. You can make your own (free version allows you to create 5 games) with half a number of templates available, while the paid version (quite affordable) allows you to use the full capacity of the website.
Live Worksheets – I was absolutely ecstatic when I found Live Worksheets. You can find any virtual worksheet you need or create your own, keep them private or share them with the teaching community. You can even make your own virtual workbook and ebbed the links on your website! Absolutely amazing and free!
Off2Class – A teaching platform that includes a full toolkit necessary for online or face-to-face tutoring. It contains ready-made lessons, curricula for all levels, grammar, IELTS, TOEFL, business English, registration for your students, homework assignment, Zoom integration, placement test, and more. A free trial is available for one month that gives you access to the placement test and all the lessons. If you opt not to subscribe, you can still use quite a number of lessons free. It can be used for students 12+, and if you have several students it is quite worth paying for a subscription for hassle-free, no prep high-quality lessons.
