Open Mic and Jam Nights In Bangkok
Are you looking for venues where you can show off your musical talents? Here are our top places for open mic and jam sessions. If music is your passion, the following nights are perfect opportunities to have a great time, express yourself and network with fellow musicians or passionate music lovers.
For everyone:
QUEEN BEE – every Tuesday you can sing/jam anything you like and meet some great local musicians that might start up your music career in Bangkok, you never know!
FATTY’S BAR & DINER – every Tuesday from 9 pm. It’s open for all – comedy, music or whatever you like. Performers get a free beer.
IRON BALLS GIN PARLOUR – Open Mic Night ft. Keithen Carter – every Sunday night from 9:30 pm. Singers get vouchers and best act will take home a bottle of 700 ml Iron Balls. Hosted by the one and only Keithen Carter.
CASA AZUL – Open Mic Night – the latest open mic in the city merges Mexican food and open mic every Thursday night from 7 pm – 9 pm.

For serious musicians:
SPEAKERBOX (EX NOTHING BUT THE BLUES that was one of the most genuine blues bars in Bangkok) is continuing the tradition of Sunday Blues Jam with some of the best local and expat blues musicians jam on Sundays (as it’s not a regular event, please check our schedule for updated info).
JAZZ ON SUKHUMWIT– For all you jazz lovers out there, you can spend your Sunday afternoon jamming with some of the best jazz cats in Bangkok. (until recently the jams had been happening at Check Inn 99, which had closed in May, and after a four-month residence in Silom’s O’Malley’s Irish Pub, it’s moving back to Sukmuwit at The Melting Clock (as of 13 October)
ADHERE THE 13TH BLUES BAR – and if you are really really REALLY good, some of the best blues bands in Bangkok might let you jam with them at the oldest blues bar in Bangkok: Jukes on Thursdays and Sundays, Banglumpoo Blues Company on Fridays and Saturdays, and The Vintagers on Mondays.
LIVE LOUNGE – Craft Mondays ft. Stars of Bizzare – Each Monday, musicians from the Freshly Squeezed Sounds collective provides the perfect compliment to our range of craft beers. They perform in a range of styles, with an open invitation to musicians in Bangkok to come and join the jam!
UPDATE AS OF November 2019 – No more Open Mic night at IRON FAIRIES on Thonglor, as it is closed and will be moved to another location sometime in 2020.
If you are a poetic soul that needs to express themselves with spoken word, check out periodical Poetry Slam events at Live Lounge. “Spoken Word Poetry is a performance focused recital of original poetry. The poetry can cover ANY topic and is open to different styles and techniques.” (from Poetry Slam events page) Poets interested in entering the poetry slam please email bangkoklylu@gmail.com.
Live Lounge also hosts weekly RAW Comedy Open Mic for all those that want to try stand-up.
