Remedy of the Soul
Sometimes to do nothing definitely IS a good remedy!
But to do nothing is sometimes more easily said than done: in today’s reality filled with insecurity, worry, fear of tomorrow, regrets about the past, daily obligations and other billion thoughts that rush through our minds on a daily basis. Once a find a place that creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity, which makes my whole body relaxed the moment I walk through the door, that is the place I grab onto and don’t let go!
My boyfriend (who sometimes makes it his mission to find the place that would tick all my boxes) has recently once again introduced me to this beautiful oasis of calm: Remedy Coffe and Stay. It is a tiny coffee shop situated in Old Town across the Saket Temple (Wat Saket).
The interior is quite minimalistic but warm and inviting. It is created for and by those who like to work, create, think or just relax. Wooden furniture, records and coffee table books, a turntable, small cute decorations, everything is there to inspire and give you peace of mind.
And the cherry on top is the outside area, just one table with two chairs right on the canal. The sunray glitters on the water and reflects on the walls, mirrors show the reflection of water and the nearby bridge, and every once in a while a tourist boat passes by with engine switched off as they are approaching the bridge.
It’s an absolute delight to have an afternoon cappuccino and a brownie, with usual jazz in the background and a beautiful view over a canal. It really makes you forget about the real world, the hustle, the traffic, covid or whatever else might burden you. The only downside is that it closes at 6 pm, but that’s just in time for dinner, and what better area to be in than Old Town for some great street food.
