Sourdough Bangkok

These cool days in Bangkok are such a blessing and a great opportunity to explore the streets of our Angel City. Today we had a great find on one of my favourite Silom streets – Pan road – a bakery/coffee shop Sourdough Bangkok. The name says it all, and as a true lover of all things bread, I was in there in a split second.

Sourdough Bangkok is owned by a Russian family – Olga and her husband Andrei Matveenkov, who wanted to offer a healthy option of bread made with proper yeast, which takes two days to make. They have become an overnight success, as they also deliver their delicious goodies (you can check the available options on their FB page).

As if the smell of fresh bread and a serene interior was not enough to keep you in there for hours, we got a free coffee (as part of a promotion) and free samples of their delicious and healthy bread (if you are not familiar with the health benefits of sourdough bread check their FB page or Google it). You can choose between a Classic Wheat sourdough loaf (120 baht) or a Wheat Loaf with Seeds (160 baht), Rye sourdough loaves are also available (180 baht), and sourdough brioches (120 baht).

We also tasted one of several maroon (50 baht) flavours available, and I gotta tell you, it was love at first sight!!! The passion burning between the sourness of raspberry and spicy chocolate will for sure keep me awake at night!

The cherry on top was coming home and making a delicious hummus & bacon sandwich on a whole wheat sourdough bread with seeds, that keeps you wanting more, more and more… Even my darling who is not so big on seeds, went head over heels for it. Can’t wait for breakfast tmr 😉.

And I’m already craving those dreamy maroons…there are quite a few more flavours left to try!

Opening hours: 9 am – 6 pm (closed on Tuesdays)
